Fleet start in grey and damp conditions

Like many sporting events this year the IOM Copiers Easter Regatta was a victim of ‘Lockdown 3.0’.  This is traditionally the first regatta of racing on the sea and it still was when it was hosted by Manx Sailing & Cruising Club in Ramsey Bay on Saturday.

The ‘one day only’, three races all to count racing was held in a good south easterly, ranging from the mid to high teens of knots.  Had the sun been shining you could have called this champagne sailing, instead it was overcast with spitting rain that was barely noticed by the sailors.
