And they’re off…..

Manx Sailing & Cruising Club held their Summer Dinghy Regatta over the weekend in the beautiful Ramsey Bay with an excellent turnout of 25 crews.

Racing got off to a disappointing start on Saturday with over an hour delay before the start of the first race waiting for the wind to fill in.

After a promising start the breeze decided once again to disappear which turned the whole results sheet into a bit of a lottery.

The only competitor who completed three laps and remained in the top flight was Angus Jolly in his Aero 9 in second place, the first and third slots were taken by James Allison and Jason Hyett in Laser Standards, completing 2 laps. 

The dying breeze was especially cruel to the others on lap three and the group of juniors in Tera’s.  A special mention for Jimmy Cope in his Tera Sport who was particularly disadvantaged but had the moral fibre to stick it out and make a finish.
