Ramsey to Laxey Coastal Race

Write up by Keith Poole.
The nice weather encouraged a starting line up of 15 boats, including two catamaran’s, for what turned out to be fairly brisk trip down to Laxey. This trip is not for the faint hearted as it can turn into a bit of a battle after Maughold Head. However, on this occasion the wind held (almost) and the sun came out for what turned out to be a great sail to Laxey.
Massive congratulations to Lettie Hyett, sailing an Aero 5 taking the win (possibly to youngest do so, I’ll have to check), Tom Cringle and Darcey Withington sailing a Laser 2000 couldn’t quite match their win of a few years ago on their return in second, with Ralph Kee in third just two seconds back.
Too many to thank with three patrol boats on duty, race officer etc but thanks to all.
